Minima is an Australian accessories brand, combining traditional craftsmanship and contemporary minimal design.
As a slow fashion brand, we’re committed to delivering effortless style that’s trans-seasonal and versatile. We believe things should be made to last.
You will not find a new collection or trend colours from us every season, instead you will find new releases to add to your wardrobe which are timeless, long lasting and high quality.
In a world where traditional hand craft skills and techniques are dying out due to mechanisation we value making each and every one of our handbags using traditional techniques. Each piece is carefully cut, assembled and sewn by hand using only the finest Italian vegetable tanned leather.
By keeping a hands-on role, no two creations are exactly the same, each making its own unique statement.
The final result is a sustainable range of classic designs with an enduring quality, that are designed to last.
Just like our bags, our sandals are designed withmodern femininity, function and quality in mind. Our minimal designs combine the classic with the modern for an everyday refined style.
A significant part of the Minima philosophy is supporting small family run businesses therefore we get our sandals individually handmade in Greece by locally skilled artisans using our range of vegetable tanned leathers. We work directly with our artisans to ensure the best quality.
Unlike a lot of leathers in the market which are tanned with highly toxic substances, our premium vegetable tanned leathers are sourced from a traditional Tuscan tannery – part of the Genuine Italian Vegetable Tanned Leather Consortium, ensuring an ethical production.
Vegetable tanning is an ancient and traditional craft process that tanneries have passed down over generations. Each hide has unique natural markings and a character of its own.
The raw hides used by our tanneries are sustainably sourced and are the discarded by-products of the food industry - no animal is killed for its skin.
Over time our products will age gracefully and develop a ‘patina’, adding to its uniqueness.
